CrossFit Ickenham is a community-focused group built around supporting people in their health, fitness and nutritional development.

As a like-minded group of individuals, we are building a community that puts the fun, camaraderie, and sport into being fit and healthy.

 

How We Do Things

At CrossFit Ickenham we have a firm belief that “CrossFit is an emotion, not a theory on paper”.

Only you have the ability to improve yourself. No resistance machine or piece of “cardio” equipment has the power to change your abilities. It’s down to you and your power of mind!

With constantly varied programming creating a different “workout of the day” (WOD) every day, your body cannot settle into a “comfort zone”, will never be able to relax with an easy challenge.

CrossFit is scalable, whether it’s your first workout ever or you’re a complete machine, the WOD will challenge you!

The founder of CrossFit defines fitness in 100 words…

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Dead lift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
